Instead of doing a complete roof replacement, polyurethane foam roofing is offered as another great option. It is very light, with a square foot only weighing in at around a half-pound; therefore, no great strain is put on your current roof. It is also very flexible when it is being applied, so it not only adds strength to the roof but also can be applied to just about any type of roofing material in a very short time.

In some cases where the roof had been leaking for a while, we have found insulation under the roofing material saturated with water. This just means we tear off the defective areas if necessary, and apply the polyurethane foam roofing on the spot. This offers two advantages:

    • The foam replacement almost always is a lighter weight on the roof than the saturated section with water.
    • The customer enjoys a lower overall cost because of the shorter time required to fix the problem.

We have also found polyurethane foam roofing to be an excellent source of insulation. This allows your building to be much more efficient in its use of energy. We also don't need to use any fasteners that penetrate the material, which adds to insulation quality. There have been some studies done that indicate polyurethane foam roofing is actually the most energy-efficient type of roofing material – that's great for your bottom line.

One thing that makes this foam unique is that it greatly expands its volume after being sprayed on; in fact, it can increase up to 50 times in volume. This means it is seamless when it dries, so leaks are no longer a worry.

Although the name includes the word "foam", it is initially sprayed on in liquid form. This means that it can be easily applied on even the more "difficult" roofing situations:

    • Steep Slopes
    • Odd Angles
    • Large Protrusions

Commercial Polyurethane Foam RoofingOne of the common locations for leaking is around areas with flashing, such as plumbing protrusions, vents, or chimneys. With polyurethane foam roofing, there is no flashing required because of the nature of the material. So there is less likelihood of any leaking in a particular section of the roof. We can even spray it on in layers and direct the water to drain in a certain path to avoid ponding.

We are sometimes asked about the maintenance requirements for polyurethane foam roofing. The simple answer is that there is virtually no maintenance required. Of course, there is always the possibility of damage that can happen to any roof, such as a tree limb falling on it. Usually, this is solved with basic caulking. Building owners love that they no longer have to perform regular maintenance and repairs on their roof!

    Polyurethane Foam Roofing Advantages

Excellent blockage of water, great insulation, very easy and quick to apply, no stress on your roof, virtually no maintenance, very energy efficient, and very easy to fix in the unlikely event that a repair is needed.
